Some Love the Sea

Some love the sea when the sun is high,
Shining white on the golden sand;
But I love the sea when the scarlet sky
Is losing the sun to the land.

Some love the sea when the children play
In the surf that breaks on the shore;
But I love the sea at the close of day,
When the salt-breeze sweeps over the moors.

Some love the sea when the waves are still,
When the water is peaceful and warm;
But I love the sea when the winds are shrill
And the waves toss and turn in the storm.

Some love the sea when the carefree crowds
Bask in the sun and the foam;
But I love the sea under pale grey clouds,
When I walk by the ocean alone.

I loved this poem especially the rhyme scheme, I always feel that abab is the best rhyme scheme. I also liked how you used the repetition of "Some love the sea . . . " to emphasize the difference between the reasons.

Wow, I love the imagery and emotions coming from this poem. The flow of the poem is very smooth and not forced at all.

I really like this poem! The rhyme goes well with it and I like how it is some like the sea and then you like the sea. I love how sometimes the sea is calm, and at other times chaotic. Lovely poem! I want more! :)

I like the flow of the poem, good rhyming scheme and good use of imagery :)

I love the sea all the time too. :) It just has a certain higher fascination for me at the times mentioned in this poem.

I love the sea ALL the time! :D This reminds me of the sort of poetry I used to write back in middle school...only better, of course! ^_^

Wow, that was great! I loved how you write about liking the quietness of sunset and storms, when everyone else likes the busy beaches in the middle of the day. I don't think there is anything you can do to improve this. maybe add the word ominous in there somewhere, i like that word.

I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it.
